35th Day

Another full day again in DBKK. Still doing our best to complete the VLAN configuration but as we expected, the four of us still can't finish the task this week. At least we successfully sweep all the VLAN configuration in the ground floor and left with the first floor (not sure with the second and third floor). It looks very positive that we will back there again this coming weeks to complete the task. We will just have to wait and see.

P/S: Happy Sabbath to all my SDA's friend out there and may God bless all of you.

34th Day

What a day it is. Went to Papar in the morning and straightly went back to DBKK in the evening. Edward at first plans to bring me and Jack follow him to JPSM in Papar to repair few complaints pc. But of course we still have to help Kenny with his works in DBKK which due this weeks. After little discussion, then Edward decided to bring me and let Jack and Kristy follow Kenny. After send Kenny, Jack and Kristy to DBKK and take one of the guys from Polytechnic KK (I forgot his name, something like Aldinol or sort of), then we headed to JPSM in Papar. Upon reach there, we straightly went to the computer lab and try to fix the pc. It seems that there are three pc which have problem with the display. After few thing has been done; wipe the RAM, reset the CMOS, pull out the jumper, we finally manage to fix the problem. Well, it is not totally sightseeing in Papar at all; I do learn something about technical part today which is jumper. Before this, I don’t even know what is jumper, what it looks like and its use. It’s actually for security purposes. Then, after having our lunch in the Papar town, we headed back to KK around 2 pm. Edward decided to sent me back to DBKK to help Kenny after I explain what actually we been doing there. Edward thought that the three of us only watching Kenny doing his works and only stay in the server room and that is the reason of why he bring one of us to Papar today which is me. Then, around 3.30 pm we reunite again in DBKK. It seems that there are still problem with the VLAN especially after we secure the port. It’s pretty convincing that we will have to go there again tomorrow to fix it. As usual, I don’t want to be so optimistic about it and I just have to wait and see. That’s all for today’s report. Adios.
P/S: JPSM is really a weird place. Few things I notice in there that make me quite surprise is all the students seems have to bring their own glass, spoon and plate to the cafeteria when they want to eat. Also, each of the students stays in the same table in the lectures room as I can see each table got the student’s name tag on the table and each table are wrapped with the plastic cover and well decorated. But one thing for sure, the girls there are quite cute and hot. Believe me, it is true. Hahaha.

33th Day

Well, well, well. It’s another full day again in DBKK. Still doing the same thing that we do like the last time we visit there (though I’m the one who less went there compare to Jack and Kristy) which is to complete the VLAN configuration. This time we got date line which is this Friday. Today, Eric joins us for a while to help the four of us including Kenny to check out on the progress and it seems we have done the wrong way, well not actually the wrong I would say but not the right way. Instead of untagged all the port connected to the pc, Eric told us to just simply straightly secure the port. So, the sequence would be like this, tagged the uplink port and secure the port. Looks simple isn’t it but it’s quite harder than it looks. Nevertheless, as long as I occupied with something to works on, it’s good enough for me. Looking forward for tomorrow’s activity which I guess will be another full day in DBKK. But I don’t want to be so optimistic about it because who knows maybe only two people will follow Kenny tomorrow and if that happen, I’m pretty sure I’m not on the list. That’s all for today’s report. Adios.

32th Day

Hmm. What am I suppose to write for today’s activity? There’s nothing much to report as it’s almost identical to yesterday activity where both me and Jack follow Edward went out for the second straight day while Kristy follow Kenny and Laura went to DBKK which I think is very productive day for her. Instead of sending invoice like yesterday, today we help Edward to send and take some stuff from the customer site and one particular stuff that really caught my attention is the Apple Mac pc’s send to the New Sabah Times office. Its looks very flashy with the 24-inch LCD monitor and the metal casing built for CPU. What about the specification? Few significant things that I remember are 64-bit Intel Quad Core processor, 2 NIC, Bluetooth ready and 6 GB of RAM. How about the cost? The LCD monitor itself cost around RM3000+ and the CPU with the staggering cost RM12000+. Well, I think that’s all to say for today’s activity. Adios.

31th Day

Well, well. It’s already the 7th week we in Srikom and yet we still didn’t do any project and at most we have done is only a task given by David. But still, we just have to move forward and follow all the instruction given by him and hoping for the better. There’s nothing much to report for today’s activity as both me and Jack been out with Edward for most of the time until evening to accompany him to send invoice to certain places. There are also few things that need some attention in the office particularly the failover DHCP. Eric asks us to find a way or at least try to find a way on how to sync both the dhcpd file in both servers so that any changes made in the dhcpd file on primary will automatically update on the secondary server. For the backup task, I successfully added or activate the copied virtual machine after a little help from Eric. The next step hopefully will be done for tomorrow activity. That’s all for today’s activity.
