Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Just came back from watching "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince". My, my, what a different it was compare with the previous installment. There's not much of an action pack scene but it's more to the sentimental side which you didn't see much in the previous movie. Hermione attracted to Ron but seems Ron didn't realize it that much. On the other hand, Potter with Ginny. Kinda funny and fun to watch the main character in a romantic scene since Harry Potter themes are not about love on the first hand. But it's so sad that Prof.Dumbledore died in this movie, he's one of my all time favorite character in this movie. Can't wait for the next sequel to see how Potter will find the (forgot the name of the things) and how Hogwarts will looks like with the lose of Prof.Dumbledore.

P/S : Sorry for the spoiler..

10th Day

Hello everyone and Happy Sabbath to my all SDA’s friend out there. We meet again on the 10th day report. There’s nothing much happen today. It’s more or less exactly like yesterday activity. The three of us is still trying our best to complete the task given by David. Today, I came early to the office. I think it’s around 7.40 am. Then follow by Jack and Kristy who came last between the three of us. I think starting this week, we already start headed in to the office by ourselves and not follow last week trend which wait until all of us came. As usual, we start our morning by checking our email, facebook and open our meebo (tabiat pagi2 uda ne..hehe). Then by time all the staff came in to office, we change our concentration to the task and try to troubleshoot it. Remember what happen yesterday? I give up on my method (sa try berjam2 malam kemarin, tapi x dapat2 juga) and follow Kristy/Jack method instead. So, that’s how our day passes by until this evening. We still couldn’t do the second part even though David gives us an idea on how to do it. Well, we leave it for next week as maybe we can think of something this weekend (kalo la ada masa mau buat..haha.) The three of us went back around 5.37 pm. That’s all for today’s report. Roger and Out.
P/S : Today is the last day for the 8 trainee from UMS that also doing their practical in Srikom. This evening is quite chaotic by them as they take picture with almost all the staff. I share their happiness because it means less people in the office starting next week and I can finally change the place I sit (kamurang mau tahu tmpt sa duduk skrang, mimang x strategik langsung sebab itu la tempat jalan utama sama ada mau p atas ka, mau p tmpt big boss ka atau mau p tmpt staff lain).
Last but not least, Happy Sabbath once again.

9th Day

Hello everyone. Here’s my report for the 9th day. I came earlier today than usual around 7.40 am and went back around 5.37 pm. Well, there’s not much I can say for today’s activity as the three of us really try our best and concentrate to complete the task (use to Autoit to test the system they develop) given by David last Tuesday. But as hard as I try my best to complete the task (though it’s a team effort but of course we want to try our own method to solve it), it’s still a total defeat for me today. I’m pretty much disappointed with myself as I couldn’t even complete the task even half of it (well, I consider the task are divided to two part, the first one would be create a query that can access all the record at one time and the second one would be run the first part on multiple window). Your guys’ maybe wondering how Jack and Kristy doing, well they complete the first part, not very sure about the second part since I’m concentrating on the first part all the time. But it’s pretty much show how I’m way behind of two of them in logic programming or maybe even basic programming. I didn’t blame anyone for this but it’s still hurts when things like this happen because of your own incapability. Here’s the big lessons for me today, lose the sometimes overconfident acts in myself and double or maybe triple my effort to improve. The quotes “actions speak louder than words” really got into me today as I’m pretty much talks about it but fail to prove it.
P/S: Credit to both Jack and Kristy since this task made a big impression to David. Hope he will give us more task other than let us sitting there doing nothing.

8th Day

Hello everyone. I’m back for the 8th day report. Today we simply a bit occupied with works but I start with my big mistake today. Just now, my cat fights with other cat (cilaka punya kucing, mau kena sepak ba tu). Then I came there as a hero to save my cat but I use the wrong way to stop the cat fight, instead of using water or broom, I use slipper because it’s the nearest thing near me. Unfortunately, when I throw the slipper towards that damn cat, I hit my cat instead. =.=” What a big mistake I have done. Though it stops the fight but it left my cat with a bruise on its right front leg.
Now back to the real deal. Today I came a bit early than usual but I have to walk a little bit far than usual because my dad is rushing for his course. So, when I arrive there. I felt a bit hot because of the walk. Instead of waiting them like the past days, I decided to come in first than them because it’s quite cold inside the office. I sign in the purple book around 7.40 am follow by Jack and Kristy. This morning I can say that we a bit occupied with works. Straightly after came in, we continue our task been given yesterday about the Autoit software. So, we concentrate on this task until we were called by Eric. Eric ask us to try troubleshoot the Nomadix modem (remember the modem that we replace in Rasa Ria Resort on the 2nd day), so it’s quite interesting to play with that modem since it’s a new device to us (though the modem itself is an old model - I notice it use SD ram). Seems that modem got problem with the ethernet port, so we try to open the casing and plug the cat-5 UTP cable directly in the modem. Seems it still return no connection. So, Eric brings the serial to USB converter and tries to use that instead. By using a software (Tera-tera ka pa. lupa nama dia), we try to boot in to the modem by console. Eric asked us to change the access control IP address so that we can use the web browser to check the modem. He actually wants us to copy the configuration file in the modem (maybe untuk backup mgkn). So, he left us there to settle that thing for him. After we change the access control IP address, boot in and copy the configuration. we try to test some of the features of the modem. Maintain the same features, this modem also support DHCP. Not bad. So, we left the modem inside the office since the modem is function again. As I say earlier, we really occupied with works that morning as we didn’t realized its already 11.30 am that usually take us like hours waiting for that time. So, we went to lunch sharp 12.15 pm. Then, around 1 pm we went back to the office. Around this time, Kristy calls on one of the trainee that also doing her practical in Srikom. Yes, u heard me. It’s “her”. At last our group of three are joined by another girl (ngam la tu, ada uda kawan c Kristy. X juga kami kena kacau oleh dia. Hahaha). I don’t remember her name actually, its maybe Alisha or Elisha (sio aa kalo ko terbaca ne blog. Sa x tertangkap betul nama ko td. Hahaha). She’s also a science computer student majoring in system study in Unimas.I consider her as my kouhai as she’s also an ex-kml after our batch. So, after a little chat between us, we headed to our own laptop to continue our works. Well, the evening session is a bit bored for us. Not bit actually, you can say very. We left there again doing nothing (bukan juga x buat pa2 langsung la. Ada la cuba main2 balik dgn Autoit tu. Tapi mcm x banyak kami bole buat dgn tu software skrang. Pasal tu task pn, mcm itu system balik2 x bole kena access). To make myself busy and avoiding sleepiness overpowering me, so I try to play with the scripting. I try to create a simple scripting that allow two number input from user and later added the number and return the answer. I successfully done that but it take me around an hour plus to complete the scripting. It seems that my basic programming really is rusty. I really need to brush up and refresh the entire thing I learned. Aaaaaaaaaa, that’s how the evening end. I ended up online and surfing until 5.30 pm.
P/S : Eric told us the modem actually got problem since it’s reboot every time we do changes in the router.
Addition: I’m not supposed to post this but I’m hoping that God really help my cousin’s family for their complication they facing now. It makes me worry about them.

7th Day

Hello everyone. I’m back again for the 7th day report. Honestly speaking, I’m not very fond to wake up using alarm clock. I rather wake up naturally. But of course it’s almost impossible for me if we talk about wake early in the morning like 6 to 9 am. But everyone got their day and today is my day. Amazingly, I’m able to wake up at 6.10 am without using the alarm clock (sa on ba tu sebenarnya tapi sa bangun lagi awal dari alarm clock sa..haha). Then, I headed to Srikom fetch by my dad (hari ne sa makan pau ayam untuk breakfast. Sedap woh). For the second straight day, Kristy is the one who came early than both me and Jack (wah. C Kristy bersemangat uda mau p keja, minggu lalu mungkin dia penat2 lagi ba tu mac). Then, I came after her and Jack afterwards. We headed in to the office and as usual a short session with our fellow friends, the purple book (we came in around 7.54 am). After the ‘great’ acts I pull this morning, I was hoping it was some kind of sign that today would be (if not very, slightly it’s consider okay for us) different. But maybe I was hoping too much, it was just like a copy paste activity like last Friday. The only difference is most of the staff are quite busy (suma dorang kuar) today. I realized they talking about DBKK (one of the recent project they working on recently). But you guys must be thinking that the three of us doing nothing at all other than online (kalau kamurang cakap ya, kamurang score 80% la markah..haha), you guys are wrong. We continue to read the project documentation been given by Eric yesterday. Even though it’s slightly bored but we still need to show the staff that we are doing something (hahaha. Sengaja la mau kasi Nampak busy). Until this line, it’s already 3.21 pm (malas mau uda mau baca tu documentation, sa buat la blog time keja). I dunno what will happen after this until 5.30 pm but I’m pretty sure it will be pretty much the same. So, I will update this post later.

Updated: It seems that I was wrong after all. What a turn out event the last 2 hours. Shortly after 3.30 PM, David came back. And suddenly he called the four of us (include Johnathan, still remember him?) to his office. He introduced to us software called Autoit. It’s windows-based software that can automate keystroke from keyboard using scripting. Not much I can say about this software for now since I just use this software for 2 hours. But this software is really cool particularly for system testing (maybe we can use this software to launch DOS attack). Then, David give us (at last…) a task where we have to launch an automate database query simultaneously (actually he just want to test the system database that seems to me was created for the DBKK project). But this task alone make very happy since I’m able at last to make my brain cell move for the first time in my practical. I’m looking forward for tomorrow activity. (^o^)
That’s all for today’s report. Roger and out.

6th Day

Hello everyone. Today’s post will be double duty. So, it’s maybe a bit longer than usual. (^o^)
Sunday:
After one of the item on my shopping list (read the previous post) were unchecked last night. I thought I should complete the list today. Without wasting any time on that morning, I straightly headed to the same place where I buy the DVD player last night. Well, you can say that Karamunsing is a paradise in KK or maybe Sabah if you are looking for electrical stuff particularly computers. Well, I would say I’m a bit surprise to see the computers shops in there since I never thought it would be a lot of choices (well, not that lot like in Lowyat but I consider it quite many since it exceed my expectation) to go in. One of the shop (ACI) that been recommended by my friends is actually a good place if you are looking for desktop parts since the stuff are a bit cheaper compare to other shops . The first item on my shopping list is LCD screen. Actually, I use CRT monitor before this. Before I came back here, that monitor supposed to be sold in the internet or by whatever means available. But my brother insists asking me to bring it back to replace the old 14’ inch CRT monitor (though my monitor is also CRT but at least it’s bigger – 17’ inch and have flat screen). So, I bring it back. BUT it cost me a lot of money to bring it back (I have to pay a sum of money for the excess baggage - my stuff is 28 Kg heavier, RM 15 for every 1 kg. You do the math), thanks to Kristy and Jack I’m save. So, to cut the story short, that monitor is now been use by my brother. That is why I needed a monitor. There’s plenty of choice if you want to buy LCD screen (it can be LG, SAMSUNG, HP, ACER and some unknown brand), but for me, the bigger the better. So, I decided to buy the 20’ inch SAMSUNG SyncMaster 2033sw LCD screen after a thorough check to every LCD available. Then, I complete my shopping list by buying the last two items which are one terabyte hard disk (one of the specification in my pc that I’m proud about is the amount of hard disk space I have – almost 2 terabyte or 1.937 terabyte for exact) and a 2 GB ram. OO, I forgot, there’s one more thing I need to buy which is computer table. After my business finish in there, then I straightly went back. The installation part for the PC is piece of cake for me BUT the part where I need to assemble the table from scratch is hard. Seriously, my hand is so sucks in putting it together (the palm of my hands is left with a blister just because to screw the screw driver to the table join) until I ask for mom help in certain part (which is quite embarrassing BUT there’s nothing I can do, I’m a normal human being). After almost 2 hour struggle, the table assembles finally completed and continue with rearrange the pc on that table. Aaahhhh. What reliefs, now I can start use my pc again to play game and watch movie or anime with that big LCD screens I just buy (there’s one bad thing about big LCD screen, only a HD movie will looks fine if you play it in full screen, even the “consider big” video resolution for certain anime like FMA Brotherhood which is 1280*720 looks a bit “low quality” when you play it in full screen). Later that night, again my friends bring me out. This time we hang out at Upperstar. Gosh, I’m not even supposed to join them since they go there to drink alcohol. BUT since most of them will go back to West Malaysia and some Indonesia next week to start the new semester, so I decided to join to make them happy. I’m not very sure about the drinks they take that night, but I’m guessing is Long Island, margarita and bourbon. At the end of that night, I’ m been forced by them to have one shot of drink that eventually changed to three shot. I felt much sinned for doing that (my religions not allow me to drink alcohol drinks if you guys wondering), BUT it do help me to sleep that night. Hahaha.

Monday: The morning starts by a hard pouring rain that almost make me don’t want to leave the bed following my sins acts last night. But I make myself strong and get ready to work (btl la ba kan, keja la ba sa ne. Cuma kalo orang Tanya posisi sa, baru la sa cakap sa ne trainee..hehe) Surprise2, the first day on the second week start exactly the opposite thing. If last week, Kristy the one that came late on each day. Today, she’s the earliest one (beri tepukan gemuruh sama dia..haha), I’m the second one and Jack is the last one to arrive. Then, like usual we headed in to the company and write (we came in around 7.53 am) on the purple books. Today’s activity is by far are not that difference compare to last Friday but its fills with advice and guide. In the morning, David told us several things that we as a network engineer (I’m not very sure about it but I will refer to our lecturer regarding this thing) need to know and emphasize more on the basic network fundamentals such as cable frequency carrier. One of the skill that he says very important for network engineer is to be observant to your surroundings like sound. Also, he reminds us there are two things that are very popular in network currently which is virtualization and SAN (Storage Area Network). Then, we were shown the megalab project picture in UMS they done and explain to us how they do the cabling from scratch start from hack the floor until the RDP server implementation and up to the Megalab starting operation to the student. We learn some new stuff from David again today. One of the example is service point where they used it to join the cable or change the cable direction since the cable cannot bent (well, it can’t if you put it together). We also learn that blue conduit is specifically for the cable, green conduit is for the phone cable and red conduit is for the fire *(something for fire precaution, not remember the exact use). David also told us that they used the RDP server to remotely install the OS on 500 pc (actually it’s a question been asked to us on how to install OS on 500 pc which is something absurd if you try to install it manually one by one). Later that evening, Eric asks us to have a look at their previous project network design and study it carefully. Again, we study few things that we take for granted before. I know that there are three group of IP address that we can use as the private IP address (10.x.x.x, 172.x.x.x and 192.168.x.x ), but the things that I never known is some of this address got limit. For example, the limit for 172.x.x.x is 172.31.255.255. Another thing that we learn from Eric is tagged and untagged (not sure about this but it seems that HP ProCurve switch use this method to specify the port) in VLAN. Usually, tagged port means that particular port are use for VLAN to VLAN communication on in other words, trunking in CISCO. Untagged port usually are use to for the end devices port like pc. Well, it’s pretty much open my eyes today as I thought I learn enough for all the basic things. It seems that I still need to brush up all my basic and refresh all the things I learned in the past 3 years. Having said so, I hope this is a good sign on the coming days. Then, we went back on 5.36 PM.
That’s all for today’s report. Looking forward for tomorrow’s activity.
