It’s double duty for today’s report. This week activity start on Tuesday as Monday is a public holiday to celebrate Malaysia Independence Day for the 52nd Year. Though it suppose to be a meaningful day for all Malaysian but I wonder why this year celebration seems not to be so grand or at least not for me. Compare to the previous year, it’s very seldom for me to see any car or even building or shop to hang at least one flag. Well, enough for that and let’s get to business. On Tuesday, it’s only me and Jack been around as Kristy extend her holiday to Tuesday. Again like the previous days on last week, we follow Kenny again to DBKK to help him settle some problem in there. Not much I would say because I remember we only secure the port in ground floor which is the Telefonis place and but surprisingly it takes us almost two hours to settle. During the lunch break, the three of us hang out in CP to kill some time or perhaps playing Snooker for exact. ^o^ But believe me, we really enjoying our time in there though I’m not good on it. In the evening, let just say both me and Jack stay in a crowded room full with air cond playing Facebook. Hahaha. And as usual, it’s just not right to end the day every time we went to DBKK by buying some kuih.
P/S : Ada orang kena tipu lagi tu hari. Hahahaha.
Today is finally the day where our supervisor, Prof. Dr. Nanna Suryana Herman visit us at last where he suppose to do that few weeks ago. Surprisingly, while I’m waiting for his message that morning because I thought he couldn’t find Srikom, indeed I’m wrong. Without the three of noticing, he arrive in Srikom at 8.45 am. Then, after a short shake hands session between the four of us. Mr. Chris bring him to his office and have around 40 minutes discussion. Then, the three of us were called in the meeting room and have a short talk with Prof. Nanna. He’s indeed a very nice guy and have low profile in regards of his rank (he’s actually the deputy dean for our faculty) and title. Then, around 10.30 am, he take his move and went out from Srikom to catch his flight to Lahad Datu to visit out another friends which is Qurattun. From there, we were left on our own to do things. Actually that morning, David ask us to try explore a software called Webmin where it’s usually use to monitor the file server. After Prof. Nanna got way, I tried to install the software in the virtual OS but I’m having a problem to transfer the RPM file. So, I stop thinking about it and focus more on the failover DHCP. Then, in the evening. Kok bring Jack went out and left both me and Kristy in the office. Eric suddenly ask us whether we have tried to configure firewall. I remember a bit about it since I’m in charge of firewall services during my workshop 2 back in UTeM. Eric gives us a chance to play with a firewall devices call Firebox and teach us several things about it. I haven’t got chance to test it as I’m still burdened by the failover DHCP task. So, up until this moment. I would say Kristy is the one who know more about Firebox. >.< But still, I’m very frustrated about the failover DHCP as I can’t solve the problem. I would still try to continue for it tomorrow and hope I can find something to solve it.
P/S : Went out from the office a bit late than usual. Gosh, it’s sure looks scary outside at that time.
Updated : This post suppose to be upload last night but since there are problem with the Streamyx line in my house area. So, I have to post it this morning. Damn you Streamyx.
Today : Well, well, well. Today is another full day outing. But not with Kenny, it's Edward. He bring both me and Jack follow him to several places to send invoice and also do some technical part (Kristy stay in the office the whole day and i got no idea of what she doing. My guess would be playing with the Firebox). Our first destination is UMS where we headed to BPA to send invoice. On our way, we pass by the port where MV Doulos stays on their short visit to Sabah. It's been a long time since i last see it few years ago. Well, i think almost all people go in to the ship during their visit to Sabah only to buy books. Back to UMS story. Gosh, that's place is big. It's my first time went inside there and i'm quite surprise with the landscape. It makes me felt sad when i think about my three years back in UTeM where i never actually experience the true university life. Then, after that we headed to Shelley Yap to send back the cpu that been repaired. At there, we were asked to do some technical part such as set the network printer and teach them on how to update anti virus on one of their laptop. Also, we have to take back another UPS in there as it's having a problem with it's battery. That's how both me and Jack ends our day. Not a bad way to kill some time isn't it Jack? ^o^
P/S: This weeks felt faster for me and tomorrow is already Friday. Yeah.
